Welcome to my life. It's crazy, filled with love, and often a bit messy. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Visit with Santa

Today we took Jared to visit Santa. He did great! This picture looks a little funny, but he didn't cry at all. He sat there like a good boy, but wouldn't let us get a good picture. Oh well, this is a pretty classic Jared face anyway.
Now on to updates. Jared is still army crawling around the house, but he's getting a lot better at it. He's actually moving all over instead of staying in one little area. So far he hasn't gotten into much that he isn't supposed too, but I'm keeping a close eye on him. The other day I had the dvd cabinet open and he saw a dvd case and went right for it. He's definitely going to be getting into everything soon. He also learned how to go from laying down to sitting up. Jon found him the other morning sitting up in his crib. That's definitely a new development. Neither of us have seen him do it when he's playing though, so it might be a while until he realizes he can do it.
We hope you have a great Christmas!

Thanksgiving Update

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We stayed in Indiana and visited with Jon's family and mine. The day started out at Grandma Vela's with the Boggs clan.
My sister got Jared a super cute Thanksgiving outfit that he managed not to get too much food on. It was so fun to see him eating all the good food. The kid certainly can eat! He had turkey, sweet and mashed potatoes, corn casserole, and pumpkin pie. The Boggs kiddos and Jon also tried to help Jared learn to crawl.
I like to refer to this as Crawlfest 2009. Speaking of crawling, I'm sure it won't be too long, although Jared is much more interested in standing and walking than crawling. Lately he's been spending more time on all fours and rocking. I'm not so sure that I'm ready for him to be crawling yet. Today he was being brave and tried to "walk" from his toy to the coffee table. Good thing I was there or else he would've knocked his head on the table pretty good. He's a little too brave for his own good.
Back to Thanksgiving. After Grandma Vela's we went to Mimi and Pop's house where we had another delicious dinner. Jared even got some steak and dumplings along with the normal Thanksgiving day fare. I think his favorite was the chocolate cake that Mimi fed him the next morning. =)
Overall, a great holiday.
